Lindsay Parker was born to a third generation Korean American with her middle names passing on the former Korean surnames of her mother and her grandfather. Lindsay was the fourth born to the Parker family, and the only daughter which changed the dynamic a little within the family as her mother wanted her to fall in line with their traditions that she had when growing up. However, she met her match with her determined and quite stubborn little girl.

From day one, Lindsay was strong in her opinions from food, clothing, or playmates even going as far as to cry the entire time her mother sat her with her cousins who were around the same age. A picky eater who typically parted the red sea on her dinner plates, and rarely mixed them on her fork. Though her parents did not understand their youngest child, she learned to hold her own against the world; or at least her older brothers which to a short brown eyed little girl was her world.

Marrying her high school sweetheart against her family's wishes was not the smartest decision Lindsay had ever made, but when you are on your senior trip and you were given one too many drinks by a native the wisest decisions are not made. The whirlwind newleywed bliss only lasted for two weeks which was when upon returning home and their families butted in. Now looking back on her late teen years, she made her mistakes and does not regret them even with taking off a year between high school and college.

When it came time for college, she always knew she could not stay in Chicago because of the prying eyes of her family and their ultimate opinions so New York became the next best thing. Columbia University was always one of her first choices, but being a realist she doubted she could even put her toes in the door so she applied to other colleges and universities outside of Illinois. One of the best memories that Linds ever had to this day is seeing that beautiful acceptance letter to Columbia waiting on the kitchen table.

Upon graduation with her broadcast degree, Lindsay went back to Chicago to complete her masters as well as check on her ailing father. Ten months was an eternity for her to be stuck back within her parents home. The good news was that her father recovered, but the bad news is for that year she heard questions of how long would she be single, why she had not met any good guys, and wasn't time passing for her to have children even if she was in her early twenties and in her eyes she had quite a way to go. One day she had enough and finally called up an old friend and former roommate about how life was going in another city back on the east coast.

Finally one morning she had enough and packed everything she could fit within her car and drove out to Boston from Chicago as fast as she could. She had no true fallback plan or real place to stay, but it was truly the only thing that made sense. Linds was able to live with her friend on her couch for a moment while she figured out where to start, which was the on location anchor for various stories used as fillers when there was nothing truly noteworthy on a day or by news time. Truth be told she hated it, but she counted it as a stepping stone and hoped it would lead to a more permanent position one day. The good part of her job is that it did allow her to get her own apartment and off of her friends couch though granted she slept on an air mattress for the first month.

Recently, Lindsay's hope came true as she was offered the weekend position on the newscasts at 6, 7, and 10. Lately she has been trying to get used to the new schedule and enjoying the little bit more free time she now is able to enjoy. This change has even allowed her to reach back out toward her family with less of a bitter taste in her mouth, even if where her life is isn't what they had wanted from their only daughter... but as always she has paved her own way on her own account.
